VPI Avenger DirectBased on our known design of the Avenger Tripod Chassis, the Avenger Direct takes our Direct Drive technology and marries it with our Avenger Series. The Avenger design has always been known as a "sandbox" type of design giving the owner the ability to mount up to 3 arms at any length or manufacturer model. In addition the Avenger Direct uses Isolation from our Titan turntable with Pneumatic Air Suspension feet.
The heart of the Avenger Direct comes from our proven HW-40 Anniversary Direct Drive model. Housed in an engineered and machined vented casing, the direct drive is ready to spin at the start of a button with 33 and 45 capability.

Customer Review
"I’ve owned a HW built Classic, an Avenger Plus, the same Plus outfitted with a BLDC rim drive, and now the Avenger Direct. I’ve also heard all of the VPI tables over the Here’s my review of my new Avenger Direct.
I’ve owned a HW built Classic, an Avenger Plus, the same Plus outfitted with a BLDC rim drive, and now the Avenger Direct. I’ve also heard all of the VPI tables over the years at VPI House, and some great tables from other makers at members’ houses in the various clubs I belong to.
The AD is outfitted with the 12” Fatboy gimbal and my Benz LP-S, a cart I know very well. My initial feeling was that it took me past my comfort zone. It did not sound like a table, nor did it sound like digital. After starting to understand what it was doing, I feel it sounds more like reel-to-reel than it does a TT (I’ve heard the HW40 side by side with HW’s tape deck, the ‘40 playing the same Acoustic Sounds vinyl that HW then played the master tape of, on the deck). I have to say it is the best turntable I have ever heard, that did not sound like any table I’d ever heard (I’ve heard some of the best). My audio bud who spent the day listening with me said “I have heard quarter million dollar tables and was amazed with their quality. But I never heard a table that was so good it pierced the turntable envelope. Until now.” It was the best analog either of us has heard anywhere, except in my case at HW’s with his master tapes.
Thanks Harry, Mat, and the whole VPI team for what I can say will be the last turntable I will ever buy. years at VPI House, and some great tables from other makers at members’ houses in the various clubs I belong to.
