Cliffwood Phono Preamplifier
After a lot of positive feedback from our last VPI Dealer training we have brought the VPI “Cliffwood Phono Preamplifier” to market. It will be a MM phono and incorporates the same electronics that is built into the VPI Player.
Cliffwood Phono Spec:
Moving Magnet design based on Player circuitry
Low-noise op-amp design, regulated linear power supply
The Cliffwood phono is meant to be a compliment to the VPI Cliffwood table giving the customer the chance to purchase both units to easily start their listening experience. We are not looking to go head to head with other companies making electronics. Rather, this is focused on completing the VPI entry level story for a customer to have all the tools they need to listen to their music. The Cliffwood phono will be available in both a black and clear silver finish and retail for 500 USD. The Cliffwood phono will initially be available in the US. International sales for the Cliffwood are TBA but expected sometime early to mid-2018.
With our usual strong presence at CAF 2017, the first room worth mentioning was with Joseph Audio. VPI is no stranger to Joseph Audio and has played music at many trade shows, events, and customer's homes. However, this year Jeff took a "vintage approach" using much older/discontinued products from both his and the VPI line. This was a refreshing approach because while most companies (including ourselves) feature and showcase what is new, it is nice to take a breath and see where a company comes from.
Whether it was planned or not, Joseph Audio showed it's long heritage as a company by showcasing speakers that were nearly as old as me with a model of the VPI Classic 3 that is also numerous years old and has seen more than it's fair share of Audio shows. Powered by Doshi Audio and Bel Canto Audio, the room had a nice cross section of all types of music in all formats. While we were there were upgraded Jeff's table to the JMW 3D-10 tonearm. Always a nice reminder that all VPI's no matter the age can handle current day upgrades. The only thing we were missing for this room was the "Mad Men" smoking jackets!
Alta Audio will display their State of the Art Hestia Titanium Holographic speakers.
Alta Audio will be in room 904 at the New York Audio Show 11/10 - 11/12 displaying their Hestia Titanium speakers powered by Krell Industries electronics with AntiCables interconnects and speaker cables as well as using the VPI Avenger Reference with Soundsmith cartridge.
Alta Audio's Hestia Titanium speakers have been described as holographic because of their lifelike three dimensional imaging. Their musicality and wide frequency response convey not only the size, shape, and position of each instrument in the original venue, because of our revolutionary new "Dipolito" design, but also impart the feel of each instrument as it would be felt in the live concert.
If you'll be at Capital Audiofest 2017, you will be in for a treat! Make sure to visit room #126 for your chance to win a complete stereo system featuring Mark Audio SOTA Tozzi One speakers, a PS Audio Sprout and our own VPI Cliffwood!
