I do this every year. I want to lub the bearing (once a year maintenance) and forget how. I try lifting the platter and it does not left off the spindle. I do not disassemble anything. How the heck do I get it off?

Pull straight up. You might have to perform a slight rocking motion. Sometimes the bearing will lift right out of the well and sometimes the platter will release from the record spindle. If it is really stuck, undo the female bearing nut underneath the table and lift out the entire bearing assemble and the heat the bering with a hair dryer.
