Sorting out a CRV recycling routine, looking for sensible advice
Lately I have been collecting glass bottles and aluminum cans at home and I am trying to figure out the most reasonable way to bring them in for refund. Has anyone here built a small routine around this already? Wondering what details actually matter in practice.

From what I gathered after asking around, the basics are simpler than they look. Clear, green and brown CRV glass bottles are usually accepted, wine and liquor included, as long as they stay intact. Broken glass tends to be refused or slows the whole process down, so I now keep mine in a sturdy box instead of a thin bag. Aluminum is the easy part. Whole or crushed, it gets sorted fast, and you get the refund without much waiting. While reading through local options I found a link that lists their accepted materials and mentions a small extra on aluminum on Tuesdays, around ten cents more per pound. Nothing dramatic, but if you save up cans for a couple of weeks, timing the visit is a quiet way to get a bit more back.
What I would actually check before going anywhere is whether they weigh in front of you and state the current rate out loud.
