Honestly curious here — has anyone noticed any issues lately when using a VISA card for online gambling in Canada? I’ve been playing casually for years, but recently had two declined deposits in a row on sites I’ve used before. Not sure if this is something new in 2025 or just my bank being overly cautious. Would love to hear if others are running into the same thing or if I should switch to something like Interac.

It feels like banks are tightening up their moviedle approval process for gambling-related transactions, even though they were fine before.
Hey , you’re definitely not the only one noticing changes. I had a similar issue last month—VISA deposits that used to be instant started failing without explanation. I called my bank, and they said some gambling sites were flagged due to regulatory updates. Not all sites are affected though. I did a bit of digging and found a pretty useful list of trusted Canadian casinos that still work perfectly with VISA: 10 dollar deposit casinos — it really helped me find alternatives with low fees and no deposit hassle. I ended up switching to a $10 deposit casino from that list and haven’t had a single issue since. Also, if your card is issued by a smaller credit union or fintech, they seem stricter these days. Worth checking who your issuer is.
