I have an original VPI Prime, and I'm not unhappy with anything, just thinking out loud, seeing how many high-end designs are out there with multiple motors: has anyone ever tried or even considered adding a second outboard motor? Easily done, you just need a longer belt for the additional one. The expected benefits are: Greater torque; Stress to the bearing balanced out if the motors are placed on opposite sides; Potentially a smoother drive if any cogging effect is distributed more evenly. (The latter effect may only be perfect if there's a motor control that makes sure the two are working in the right phase respective to each other.)

I recall seeing this on a the facebook group that someone do this on a prime signature i think? Seemed to fair ok for them but not really sure of the details.
Here is a pic i dug up of it. it does look cool.
Hi Gabor. I don’t personally know of anyone who’s done it, but I think you’re right. Getting the two motors working precisely together may be a challenge.
