We've been trying to figure out the best way to expand into the UK without having to open a legal entity right away. Setting up a branch sounds like a long and costly process, especially since we’re just testing the waters with a couple of hires first. I've read a bit about Employer of Record services, but I’m still not sure how it actually works in practice. Does anyone have real-world experience using an EOR in the UK? What parts of the hiring process does it really make easier, and are there any trade-offs we should be aware of?

When thinking about the best way to expand into the UK, it’s important to balance speed with compliance. Many companies start by researching the market, building local partnerships, and testing demand before committing to a full-scale presence. A practical approach is to use employer of record services, which let you hire and manage staff without setting up a legal entity — here’s a useful resource: https://www.cleveroad.com/eor-services-for-software-developers/. This way, you can focus on operations and growth while staying compliant with UK regulations.
