Mobile app vs. browser: where is it more convenient to play and why?

I used to play mostly in the browser on my laptop, but once I installed the app I realized how much smoother it runs. There was a time I hit a big win while I was commuting, and it was only possible because I had the app — the browser on my phone kept lagging before. The app also saves login, which is a lifesaver when you want to jump in quickly without typing passwords every time.
