Hello everyone, I'm new to the VPI family. I recently purchased the VPI Signature 21 (Rosewood) - it's beautiful, and I can't get wait to get my first record on. In the meantime, I'd love to get your (the VPI community) take on a few things that were missing when I started setting up this magnificent work of art.
1) The signature weight will not tread onto the plater - I am assuming it' supposed to.
2) Azimuth / Hardware were not included in the box.
3) The finger lift was not included in the box.
4) There was no Force Gauge included in the box.
5) No VTA screws in the box.
6) The counter weight: Two of the black rubber bands is missing, as is the locking thumb screw.
Any suggestions or comments would be very much appreciated.
Enjoy the rest of your day.
Cheers.
(Note: I purchased the turntable in Las Vegas, however I live in Toronto. )
Thanks. I connected with Mat & Jim yesterday- both brilliant and are taking care of everything. Cheers
Hey @A C ! Glad you found the forum and glad we connected via email. Sounds like you also had a chance to talk to Jim, glad it is coming together! 😀
Welcome, I will address your questions in the order presented
VPI makes a record weight and a reflex clamp. The reflex clamp screws down on the spindle, the weight does not. Post a picture of what you have.
The azimuth "hardware" is only a thin metal rod. You can use a 6" piece of uncooked spaghetti. IMHO, not a big issue.
A finger lift should have been included.
A stylus force gauge comes with new tables
Not sure what you mean by vta screws?
Any o-ring supplier can provide you with replacement rings. Just take one in and they will match it. You will need a counterweight lock screw. As a temporary fix, you can use an American Standard small bolt
It sounds like you bought the table used. Perhaps the seller forgot to provide some of the accessories. Audio Eden in Toronto is a VPI dealer and they can source you the missing parts, or perhaps send an email directly to vpi.
