Replacing Lifter/Cueing Mechanism

I recently got a Super Prime Scout 21 and the cueing mechanism is not working correcting. It's getting stuck "up" and interferes with tonearm azimuth knobs, etc. I was sent a new one but its different than the old one. How do I remove the old one (second photo) and install the new one (first photo)? I can't seem to figure it out.

Any help appreciated! Thanks!

Hi Larry and Merry Christmas! 🎄 First take a small slotted screwdriver to remove the padded lift. Then use a small Allen key to loosen the screw holding the lift body in place. It should drop out of the dogleg, although you may have to raise the VTA a bit for it to have enough clearance. You'll have to remove the padded lift on the new one before inserting the new body, and then screw it back on. Good luck!

I did raise the VTA but forgot to loosen the screw knob near the dial. Hopefully that did not damage it in any way. When I remembered, I loosed it and could feel the release/built up tension inside.

You're probably okay, but I'll defer to @Brf on this. None of my mounts have this screw lock feature.

You're fine, the vta tower has two guide rails beside the threaded spindle that helps aligns and supports the vta tower. When you released the secondary dog leg support thread, you just released the platform tension as you sumized. No harm done, enjoy.
