Finding the right thumbscrew size for your Scout 1.1 tonearm weight can be tricky without the original specs. I'd recommend contacting VPI directly or checking with audio forums where other Scout owners might have already solved this exact issue. Sometimes local hardware stores can help match thread pitch if you bring the original screw. It's like playing Block Breaker - you need the right tool to break through each challenge systematically.
Hey everyone, I also faced a similar issue with my Scout. Finding the right size thumbscrew can be tricky. It's like navigating the icy tracks in Snow Rider 3D – a little precision goes a long way! Has anyone else upgraded their tonearm weight with a thumbscrew? Sharing the size would be a real game-changer and help others avoid unnecessary searching.
We always used a set screw so you could really wrench down on locking in the counter weight. However, it wasn't as easy for adjustability which led to eventually using the thumb screw. Regardless both approaches work and will lock in your counter weight to keep your tracking force accurate.
why do want to change the set screw for a thumb screw? Personally, i prefer the set screw
