What steps are involved in the CentraSight treatment process for AMD patients?

I’ve been reading about different options for people with advanced macular degeneration because my aunt was recently told that her condition has progressed quite a lot. She still manages daily things around the house, but reading and recognizing faces has become really difficult for her. Someone in our family mentioned the CentraSight telescope implant program, and now we’re trying to understand how the whole process works. Is it just a surgery, or are there several stages before and after the procedure? I’m especially curious about how doctors decide if someone is ready for it and whether patients need training afterward to adapt to the implant.

From what I’ve seen while helping my father research treatments for his AMD, the CentraSight process usually starts with a detailed evaluation by an eye doctor to see if the patient is a good candidate, followed by a special vision simulation test where they try magnification devices to estimate the benefit. If the results look promising, then the surgeon performs the implant procedure in one eye, and after recovery there’s a rehabilitation phase where patients work with low-vision specialists to learn how to use the telescope eye for central detail and the other eye for peripheral vision. When we were gathering information, the explanation on the Centrasight HGH official site helped us understand the sequence of these steps and what patients should expect during the whole treatment journey.
