Choosing the Right Font for Indie Game UI – Any Recommendations?
Hey everyone! I’m currently developing an indie RPG, and I’m stuck on something I didn’t expect to take so long — the UI fonts. I need something that fits the theme (kind of fantasy-meets-minimalist), but also has to be super readable for dialogue boxes, menus, and inventory screens. A lot of the free font sites I’ve used don’t let me preview long text properly, or worse, I download fonts that end up being a nightmare for readability in the actual game. I don’t have a graphic designer on the team, so I’m doing all the visual choices solo. What tools or sites do you all use to test fonts before actually integrating them into your project? I’d love something that lets me paste in actual game dialogue and try out different font styles before downloading anything. Paid is fine as long as it’s worth it and comes with the right licenses.
