Replacing Peripheral Ring Foam Strips
Has anyone come up with a good way of replacing the foam strips on the interior of the peripheral ring? In the past the strips came off pretty easily and you could just stick on the replacements, but apparently VPI changed vendors so now the fuzz all tears off leaving the adhesive strip stuck very, very firmly to the ring and it takes about a day of scraping at it with a plastic spudger to get it to come off, and then you have to do the next…

I’ve been dealing with the same frustrating issue lately and haven’t found an easy fix either. The older foam strips used to peel right off, but these new ones are a nightmare—hours of scraping and still sticky residue everywhere. I actually took a break midway through and stumbled upon this Blog from a moving company that had some surprisingly helpful tips on adhesive removal, believe it or not. After that, I tried using a combination of heat and a citrus-based remover, which made things slightly more manageable. Still hoping someone finds a better method though.
