I have an Aries II with the frosted platter. I'm currently using the black threaded delrin record clamp. I have come to notice that the sound is somewhat livelier if using less force on the clamp or with no clamp at all. I would like to buy the signature weight but was curious how many people use this without the periphery ring. Is it even a good idea to use alone without the ring?
