I'm actually kind of glad I screwed up on this. The actual reason I was messing with the page design was to determine if I need to bring in Lee Shelly for proper product pictures. We have a bit of a photo booth area at VPI now to take better pictures on the fly of products that might have a cosmetic issue or if they were a special one off. We are not professionals by any means, but it's pretty good. I was trying to grab the same angle as previous pictures. One of my long term goals with our site is to have more consistency with the thumb nails and other little nuances. After taking the picture and putting it up on the backend myself and the offer team all looked at it and agreed it's pretty good, but Lee is still better. I kept it up and left that page unpublished. The other day I made a whole lot of updates on the Legacy page and must of his "publish all" instead of publishing just the Legacy changes. So you all got me!
So what is a mini? First, through unfortunate circumstances with a company who is no longer in business and them using the same Rosewood as us, we just grabbed a whole lot of bonus Rosewood. After my initial excitement it hit me how expensive our Signature has become from the continued increasing supply prices of raw materials. We have been doing pretty good at holding the line but it's still tough. So we looked at the Signature 21, and we looked at the Prime 21. The Mini takes the plate of the Prime 21 (minus the silk screen) and moves it to the middle while using the nicer finish of the Signature. It also keeps the upgraded steel corner posts and armboard. The other aspects of the table are from the Prime 21 using the same motor, and arm. It also has a thinner and lower profile. When HW and I listened to it we were blown away by how good it sounded and we can have it retail closer to prices form before COVID. We have really gotten better and cleaner with our design, process, and overall quality. A Signature of today could stand toe -to-toe with an HR-X or yesteryear. A Mini can do the same with our Signatures from back in the day and at a similar price. While technically not official yet it will be in the low to mid 6K range for black gloss and high 6K (possibly low 7k) range for rosewood.
However, you all aren't supposed to fully know about this until Capital Audio! 😁
I hope the name "mini" is just a working/internal name until a more descriptive name can be determined. Personally, I don't see how the term "mini" aligns within Prime 21 line up. How about Signature Junior or Prime Premium, something along those lines?
Any info on the MSRP? Thanks.
Bit of an update, it has a new name and photography now 😎
Same footprint . We are close on everything including the name 😎
Still no pictures?
Signature DS is seeming to be the winner amoungst the VPI watering hole 😎
Primemaster (ala Scoutmaster)
PrimeMaster?
