Think it's old-fashioned to send thank you notes after interviews?
Am I the only one who thinks sending thank you notes after interviews is kind of an outdated practice? I mean, we're in the 21st century – shouldn't our actions in the interview speak for themselves? I just finished a round of interviews, and I'm already exhausted by the thought of drafting individual notes to each interviewer. It feels so performative. Does anyone else feel like it's more of an obligation than a genuine expression of gratitude? Is it something we should phase out?

I can definitely see why it feels that way! The job search can be exhausting, I sympathize. That said, I do think a thank you email after interview can still be valuable touch. I was just reading some articles actually explaining how they’re viewed by HR! It definitely still makes a good impression. While a handwritten note might come off as too old-fashioned, an email is quick, easy, and demonstrates enthusiasm. It's also a chance to subtly reiterate why you're a great fit. It's the professional thing to do, in my opinion.
