Lubricant

What is the proper recommended lubricant for spindles on Vpi Turntables? (Traveler) I've seen folks say a dollop of lithium super lube grease on tip of bearing and others say oil bath..

I’ve tried both lithium grease and light oil on different decks, and it really depends on the bearing design. For example, my Audio Technica AT-LPW40WN uses a light oil approach, which keeps the platter running smoothly without adding drag.
