HW 16.5 Record Cleaning Machine

I purchased an HW 16.5 cleaning machine on 3/8/2024 and received it on 3/16/2024. On March 26th I proceeded to clean a record and the pick up tube snapped off at the end. The next day, Monday 3/27/2024 I called VPI about the broken tube. The person I talked to (who needs an attitude adjustment) told me the tube was a wear item and was not covered by warranty. I stated the tube didn't wear out, it broke off after only nine days in my possession after possibly cleaning a dozen or less records and I was told I would have to buy a replacement. That is absolutely absurd, this thing didn't even make 10 days and it broke. I probably should have bought a Pro-Ject VS-2 cleaner for less than $400.00. I will never recommend VPI for anything and I will recommend to anyone who asks to buy a different product as VPI doesn't stand behind their products and I will make sure on the audio websites I belong to that my experience with VPI service is known.
