Benz Micro Ebony on JMW 10.5i
I recently bought VPI Classic 2 that came with JMW 10.5i tonearm and 140g counter weight. I'm trying to move my Benz Ebony cart that was installed on VPI Scout with JMW 9 to Classic 2. The problem I have is that I can't set desired VTF on JMW 10.5 arm. I have to move counter weight right against azimuth ring to get VTF of only 1.8g while my goal is to set it to 2.1-2.15g. That is what I used to have on JMW 9 and counter was positioned pretty much in middle between azimuth ring and end of the arm's shaft.
Considering that JMW 9 counter weight is 120g I expected that I should be able to achieve desired VTF settings on JMW 10.5 with 140g counter weight. Weight of Benz Ebony is 9.6g as per spec.
Any suggestions?

I feel your frustration - that 140g counterweight barely giving 1.8g VTF when you need 2.1g sounds like a real balancing puzzle. Ever considered asking VPI about a lighter auxiliary weight? Also, LevelSolve puzzle solutions might have a similar logic of fine-tuning, but I digress.
