Im using a Superscoutmaster.....classic platter, solid foundation with audiopoints, dual pivot, Winfield cartridge.....never need to change

be sure to change the height of your arm when using a mat....while you're at it check everything

befor you try anything major, try cleaning the bearing et al. I use Hoppe's 9 to clean all my guns...tried it to clean my VPI.....cured speed irregularity and very much lowered the noise floor.

I have a Superscoutmaster that was playing too slowly....I cleaned the bearing with Hopps#9. (an excellenr lub and cleaner I use for my guns). My VPI hasn't run so well for years.
