Lip of my peripheral ring has a small ding size of a small pimple. Need recommendations to straighten out.

The lip is very delicate and brittle, therefore, any attempt to move the metal back into place my cause it to chip. If the dimple is downward facing and is interfering with the record coupling, I would use a dremel and gently grind the dimple flat.
