You might be able to use a lomc step up transformer.

Is your motor housing touching your plinth? The plug on my motor for my Scoutmaster was touching the plinth and causing a constant hum. I found it when I switched to 45 rpm and the hum increased in pitch. Drove me nuts before I figured it out.

The counterweight should NOT be rotated that far from center. Something's way off somewhere. You can actually see the excessive tilt on the arm in the top photo. Is the headshell level with the rest of the arm? That arm is not happy.

My Dynavector DV-20X2 low output sounds excellent on my Scoutmaster and sounded excellent as well on my Scout. Just a great sounding cart but you'll need a lomc preamp with a good amount of gain to get the best from it.

Mat has always been more than helpful to me. He's answered my questions and sent me free o-rings and other things. He has a business to run and can't be everywhere at once or all things to all people. This forum is still much better than no forum at all.

That's how I've got mine set up. Just enough tension to turn the platter without much slipping or binding the motor's pulley. I was checking the speed with my KAB strobe kit last night and the numbers on the mat weren't completely steady, they were wavering a tiny bit. I was wondering why it would do that. Thought it might be a little belt slippage. My belt's 7 or 8 years old so it could be time to replace it.

8/32" threads X 1/2" length thumbscrews found on Amazon and cheap. IIRC they were around $10 for a pack of 4. They are also available in different colors and lengths.

I hooked the gizmo up again and added a tiny bit of antiskate with it and it seems to have helped. I'm beginning to believe my que/lift is dropping too fast and needs to be replaced. When I drop it manually a bit at a time I don't have the sliding problem. It's an older Scout that I bought used in 2011 so it's probably time to replace it.

Looks OK. I'm wondering if the cue/lift is wearing out and dropping too fast as it's 15 years old now.

Almost impossible to log in. Had to use creat a thread or post to get a log in box. Went through 37 captchas trying to log in. There is nothing on the forum home page showing where to log in or out or if you're logged in or out. This is way too much of a hassle to use.
