VPI Industries at AXPONA 2026: A World-Class Analog Experience in Schaumburg F

At AXPONA 2026, music lovers from around the world gathered to experience the very best in high-end audio, and one room consistently stood out from the crowd: Schaumburg F.

In collaboration with an extraordinary group of partners — Nordost, Stenheim, VTL, dCS, and VDM Sound Group — VPI Industries was proud to help deliver a system that captured the emotional power, realism, and scale of live music in a truly unforgettable way.

This wasn’t simply a collection of elite components. It was a carefully curated ecosystem where every piece worked in harmony to create an immersive musical event that earned praise from attendees and critics alike.

The Analog Heart of the System: VPI Avenger Direct

At the center of the analog front-end was the VPI Avenger Direct Turntable, our latest evolution of the iconic Avenger platform.

Featuring a newly upgraded tripod chassis and our precision-engineered Direct Drive motor system, the Avenger Direct was designed to provide exceptional speed stability, authority, and musical engagement. Paired with the Nordost-wired Fatboy Gimbal 12-3D tonearm, the table delivered a presentation that was both dynamic and deeply natural — revealing the texture, energy, and emotion embedded in every recording.

At VPI, we believe analog playback should connect listeners directly to the performance, and the Avenger Direct demonstrated exactly why vinyl remains such a powerful musical medium.

An Extraordinary Collaboration of Audio Excellence

The Schaumburg F system brought together some of the most respected names in high-end audio, each contributing products that complemented one another beautifully.

Stenheim Reference Ultime Two SX Loudspeakers

The breathtaking Stenheim Reference Ultime Two SX loudspeakers anchored the room with effortless scale, speed, and realism. Their precision-machined aluminum enclosures and highly efficient driver architecture produced astonishing dynamics while preserving delicacy and nuance.

The speakers disappeared into the room, allowing the music itself to take center stage.

VTL Reference Electronics

Driving the system were world-class electronics from VTL, including the TL-7.5 Series III Reference Linestage, TP-6.5 Series II Signature Phono Stage, and the formidable Lohengrin Reference Monoblocks.

Together, these components delivered enormous authority, tonal richness, and transparency — perfectly complementing both the analog and digital front ends.

dCS Vivaldi APEX Digital Front End

For digital playback, the room featured the exceptional dCS Vivaldi APEX DAC, Upsampler, and Master Clock.

The Vivaldi system provided extraordinary detail retrieval, dimensionality, and musical realism while preserving the natural flow and emotional integrity of the performance. Whether listeners preferred analog or digital, the system demonstrated that true high-end audio is ultimately about emotional connection.

Nordost Cabling and Power Solutions

The entire system was unified through an extensive loom of Nordost Odin Gold and Odin 2 cabling, along with QBASE power distribution, QSOURCE linear power supplies, QNET network technology, and QRT resonance products.

Nordost’s contributions ensured the system operated at its absolute peak performance, lowering noise and maximizing coherence, timing, and transparency throughout the chain.

VDM Sound Group Acoustic Treatments

Completing the experience were the stunning acoustic panels from VDM Sound Group, whose Audys acoustic solutions transformed the room into a finely tuned listening environment.

These treatments controlled resonance and energy distribution while preserving openness and musical liveliness — an essential ingredient in achieving truly world-class sound.

More Than a System — A Shared Musical Vision

One of the most rewarding aspects of AXPONA is the opportunity to collaborate with passionate partners who share a common vision for musical reproduction.

The Schaumburg F system represented exactly that: a unified effort among companies deeply committed to craftsmanship, innovation, and the emotional experience of music.

We are incredibly grateful to our partners:

  • Nordost

  • Stenheim

  • VTL

  • dCS

  • VDM Sound Group

  • Audio Systems Optimized

—and to every attendee who visited the room, spent time listening, and shared their enthusiasm with us throughout the show.

Thank You, AXPONA 2026

AXPONA continues to be one of the most important events in the high-end audio world, bringing together manufacturers, dealers, reviewers, and passionate music lovers from across the globe.

For VPI Industries, AXPONA 2026 was an opportunity not only to showcase the Avenger Direct Turntable, but to participate in something larger: a collaborative demonstration of what is possible when great engineering serves the ultimate goal of musical immersion.

We look forward to seeing everyone again next year.

The VPI Direct room was easily the highlight of AXPONO for me—that analog setup with Nordost cabling brought a level of clarity I’ve never heard before. I’ve been using https://2d-to-3d.org

It’s always interesting to read about how different manufacturers collaborate to create a complete high-end audio system rather than focusing on a single component. Events like AXPONA are a great opportunity to hear how carefully matched equipment performs in a real listening environment. I found this through needforslots and would be interested to know which systems or demonstrations impressed other attendees the most.
