Message from Mat and Overall Update

Thanks, everyone, for the kind words and well wishes.

While having a medical event is never good timing, it especially wasn't ideal with everything we had planned this summer. At the start of the season, the plan was to attend some of the Asian audio shows, Southwest in Dallas, and launch two major initiatives we've been working on for quite some time. One of those has perhaps leaked a little on the product side, but I can't fault anyone. I was out of commission, and the team and my family had to make the best decisions they could while I focused on getting healthy.

As a follow up on my health, several of the doctors told me that, as strange as it sounds, this may have been a blessing in disguise. It happened at an age where it uncovered issues that could have been far more serious, or even fatal, had they gone unnoticed until later in life.

Once again, I can't thank Shyla enough for her immediate call to action, my wife Jane for making sure her stubborn husband got to the hospital, and our family friend Chanya for stepping in to watch the kids. I'm incredibly fortunate to have them.

Looking at the bigger picture, yes, I missed Southwest and, yes, VPI lost some opportunities because of it. But in return, I've had far more opportunities to spend time with my family.

I used to wonder why Mom and Dad (Harry) didn't expand VPI even further or travel the world for more shows when they were my age. Now I understand. They made that choice for me. Dad being home, spinning records with Mom and me, turned out to be far more valuable than spinning records at another audio show.

I grew up listening to records with Mom and Dad (mostly Dad) on a VPI Scoutmaster.

Today, I'm listening to Disney records on a Model One with my own children. There's something pretty special about that.

Anyway, I'm still getting back up to speed. The team has been incredible, and I'm excited to keep moving the needle on a number of things that I can't wait to share with all of you in the near future. ❤️
